Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest at 8:55 pm EST pm on January 2, 2022 in Cincinnati, Ohio. At the time of the injury, he was experiencing an opposition from Mars retrograde at 8 degrees Gemini to his natal Pluto of 7 degrees Sagittarius.

The birthchart of the Buffalo Bills does not appear to be experiencing a transit that would cause such a severe incident. But my birthchart of the Bills is unrectified and the axes points are not known. Still, their birthchart contains elements that would make the Bills prone to such an incident. Their natal chart contains a conjunction between The Sun, Mars, and Neptune in the sign of Scorpio, and I have speculated on a correspondence between the safety and cornerback positions and the sign of Scorpio and the planet Pluto. The backfield positions are usually involved in turnovers, which are regenerative and transformational like the sign of Scorpio and the planet Pluto. Such a high profile incident involving the Bills safety would fit with a team that has a conjunction of the Sun, Mars and Neptune in Scorpio.

Interestingly, the birthchart of the NFL was experiencing a severe transit at the time of Hamlin’s injury. The NFL chart has Mars at 8 degrees Sagittarius which received a direct opposition from Mars retrograde in 8 degrees Gemini. The NFL chart also has the Sun at 24 degrees Virgo, which is experiencing an opposition from Neptune at 23 Pisces. This aspect likely accounts for the immense outpouring of compassion that Hamlin is receiving from the NFL community. It is likely a first time that a game was stopped because of an on-field injury. This represents the parallel between Neptune at 23 Pisces and Saturn at 23 Aquarius. Saturn rules officials and league heads that make such decisions such as suspending then stopping a game. Mars at 8 degrees Gemini proved to be in minor but meaningful aspects to both Saturn and Neptune at the time of the injury. Mars was in a squine aspect (105 degrees) to Saturn. Mars was also in a squile aspect (75 degrees) to Neptune.
