The planet Saturn rules grand slams, and the stage was set for these slams by the Padres’ natal Saturn of 22 degrees Aries receiving square aspects from Jupiter at 18 degrees Capricorn and Pluto at 23 degrees Capricorn. Then between August 17, when Fernando Tatis Jr. hit the first of the four grand slams, and Aug 20 when Eric Hosmer hit the fourth slam, both the Sun and Mercury formed a quincunx aspect to transiting Saturn at 26 Capricorn.
